How do i keep my husky from escaping out of the yard?

He is 3 years old, gets plenty of exercise and is generally a happy guy. We have put a ton of money into a 8ft tall fence so he would stay in the yard yet he still manages to get out. His newest excursion included climbing the gate to open the hinge with his nose. He is needless to say very smart. He always comes home but I am afraid he is going to get hurt or even worse. Please help any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
